Default Farming with a R/W ?????

Is there any good builds or places to farm with a R/W? I've tried traps on trolls and griffons, and just cant seem to finish them off... I've been trying to find a decent build and spot for ages, and I cant find a darn thing, any help would be appreciated.

There are countless places you can farm with R/W. I've solo'ed griffens (before the nerf and addition of scarabs), minotaurs, sand worms, grawl outside droks, and ettins for runefarming.

The builds vary, but mostly I've used modified versions of Re Zon's stance/poison/cyclone axe build.

The wonderful thing about rangers, is that pure ranger builds work great for trapping. I can clear the front part of the troll cave outside droks in about 2 1/2 minutes (this includes running time from the zone point inside droks and picking up your drops). 3 sets of 4 traps can be set with serpents quickness in under a minute. As long as you have 16 Wilderness Survival and you pull well, you should have no problems finishing them off with this setup.

If you'd like more help on build ideas, just let me know and I'll gladly post them.

Ice imps!

Troll's
Healing Sig
Sever Artery
Apply Poison
Watch Yourself!
Dryders Defenses (for the odd troll and to catch up on hp)
Sprint
Storm Chaser

Key item: -3/hexxed shield.

Yes a R/Me works better, but we're talking R/W here!

If you're having trouble finishing off the trolls/whatever with traps consider bringing a +15 e staff on your build and trying to lay 3 sets of 3 traps or 2 sets of 4 traps. The trapping build I use really doesn't need a secondary it is your basic oath shot trapper build (forget where I saw it exactly)

Oath Shot
Dust Trap
Fire Trap
Barbed Trap
Storm Chaser
Serpent's Quickness
Dryders Defense
Troll Ungent

Maxing WS is probably the most important thing. I've seen variations of this build that use throw dirt and whirling defense (Ensign's) but I don't generally care too much for Throw Dirt. Remember to replant your dust traps so that the mobs stay blinded and keep missing you. The Dryders + Blind will allow you to lay traps right next to mobs almost untouched. Also abuse your oath shot if you are using it. I've also seen variations with Spike Trap instead of Oath Shot. Just try to keep in mind what you're trying to accomplish with the skill set you are using and what you are trying to accomplish. As always tweak the build to suit your playstyle and don't give up. If you keep getting rocked try to figure out what exactly you are doing that causes you to get rocked and try and fix it.

I use my ranger to farm everywhere possible for him. So far, I do the the Crystal Desert, various places in the Shiverpeaks and outside Droknars Forge. It's pretty easy and you don't need to buy a amazing weapon. All I use is a max dmg eternal bow and it works fine for me. I use one elite and thats poison arrow. I love that skill.
